Rotary Club Donation.jpg
Bike riders from Santa Cruz Sunrise Rotary participating in the 24th Annual Jon and Ken’s Most Excellent Adventure raised over $200,000 to support local Santa Cruz County organizations serving the youth in our community.  The ride consisted of a 3-day ride of over 200 miles from Healdsburg to Santa Cruz.

“The ride brought together 80 riders and crew,” said Peter Truman, Bike Ride Committee Chair and Sunrise Rotary Club Past President. “Our riders not only had a fantastic time on the ride, but they also put their hearts into raising money.”

Due to these efforts, the club is happy to announce they raised $100,000 for Teen Kitchen Project, $34,000 for the Santa Cruz Children’s Museum of Discovery, $10,000 for Second Harvest Food Bank Food for Children program and funding to support the club's charities, grants, high school youth scholarship programs and other club-supported philanthropic causes.

"The Santa Cruz Children’s Museum of Discovery is a very grateful recipient of funds raised by the ride. This donation to the Museum comes at a critical moment in the 7-year history of our organization following our successful reopening after a 14-month COVID closure,” said Rhiannon Crain, Interim Executive Director of Santa Cruz Children's Museum of Discovery.  Funds will help the museum invest in new exhibits and programs for young children and expand hours.
